Trusted across banking and fintech

Don’t reinvent the wheel, we have a core banking accelerator

Every core banking project we’ve undertaken will benefit yours. We constructed a framework out of 15+ core banking accelerator components, so we can differentiate you where it counts most.

The problem with starting from zero

Every banking leader who’s gone down this path knows the reality: sometimes the most essential components don’t differentiate you in banking modernisation.

Infrastructure from scratch

Environments, pipelines and release tooling get rebuilt project by project. None of it differentiates you, and every month spent on it is a month not spent on customers.

Obscured observability

Without a working stack from day one, issues surface late, and teams spend cycles building visibility into every component instead of building and refining a product.

Time lost on integrations

Payments, KYC, AML and core banking connections all need wiring before launch. They are essential, but not what makes you stand out.

Smart Contracts not used well

Contract architecture and tooling get reinvented per Thought Machine build, even though the underlying problems are ones every bank on Vault Core has already faced.

Our Keystone solution

Digital transformation services today need to include true AI-native practices. Accelerators are reusable technical components, tools, and templates that help us integrate systems faster, reduce development effort, and deliver secure, reliable banking solutions more efficiently.

Hitting the ground running

We can get initial services up in weeks, not months. Our core banking accelerator Keystone packs years of banking experience into pre-built infra baselines, release pipelines, an observability stack and smart contract tooling.

We’re opinionated where it saves time, so you’re not debating infrastructure choices that don’t move you ahead, and flexible where business choices like KYC, AML and payments matter.

Every hour saved with Keystone is an hour reinvested in customer journeys, product proposition and regulatory confidence. Keystone clears the noise, so we can spend energy on making you stand out.

An in-house team of architects and engineers well versed in Thought Machine’s Smart Contract system, with proven tooling from years of delivery experience, covers development, support, maintenance, audits and consultations.

How working together actually looks

Foundation

Establish the Foundation

We start with opinionated core banking accelerators built from experience delivering modern banking platforms. Get proven architecture, technology choices, principles, and best-practice guidelines from day one.

Delivery

Accelerate
Delivery

We start the build on ready-made support tooling alongside our Thought Machine smart contracts tooling for developing, testing, visualising, and deploying contracts. This lets teams focus on building rather than re-solving foundational engineering.

Launch

Launch with Confidence

Quality and operational resilience are built in from the start with pre-configured observability, whole-system regression testing, providing greater visibility and confidence through to the end of production.

What is a core banking accelerator?

A core banking accelerator is a pre-built layer of configuration, integrations, reference architecture, and delivery tooling that sits on top of a modern core to compress the time and risk of getting a bank live. Rather than building every product, API, and workflow from scratch, teams start from proven, reusable assets and configure from there.

It’s the reason a launch that once took years can now be measured in months. Vendors sometimes package this as a bank in a box, a ready-to-configure starting point covering accounts, payments, onboarding, and the operational scaffolding around them, though a good accelerator is a delivery framework, not a rigid off-the-shelf product. For more about the basics of core banking platforms, read more here.

Most core banking accelerator frameworks bring together the components a bank would otherwise assemble one by one:

  • Pre-configured product templates (current accounts, savings, lending, cards)
  • An integration and API layer for connecting payments, KYC/AML, fraud, and downstream systems
  • Cloud infrastructure defined as code, so environments are repeatable and auditable
  • Automated testing, data migration tooling, and regulatory/compliance configuration
  • Operational runbooks and monitoring for day-two support

The “best” accelerator is built for your target platform, your market’s regulatory regime, and your product roadmap.

Speed comes from three things working together: a modern core banking platform, a cloud core banking deployment model, and an accelerator that removes repetitive build work. Cloud-native cores let banks spin up environments on demand and scale without procuring hardware, while the accelerator provides tested configurations instead of blank-sheet development. The larger driver, though, is treating banking modernisation as a product and operating-model change, not just a technology swap — clear scope, a phased migration, and an empowered delivery team cut far more time than any single tool. In practice, banks that combine these elements move from procurement to live service dramatically faster than those attempting a traditional replacement.

It’s worth reframing this one: the platform matters, but the biggest predictor of a success is the implementation partner, not the vendor logo on the core. Most modern platforms can meet your requirements. When choosing a partner, weigh their certified experience on your chosen platform, their track record, the accelerator assets they bring, their grasp of your regulatory environment, and how their team integrates with yours for the long term. A partner with a mature core banking accelerator will typically de-risk and shorten delivery more than one starting cold. Here are more questions to ask a potential core banking partner.

There’s no meaningful “average.” Cost depends on scope (greenfield vs. full migration), data complexity, number of products, geography and regulatory requirements, the platform chosen, and how much a core banking accelerator reduces custom build. Published ranges tend to mislead more than they help, because two banks with similar headcount can face very different programmes. The most reliable number is one scoped to your situation, let’s talk and we can give you a realistic estimate based on your actual requirements.

Business choices like KYC, AML and payments, architecture decisions, and accountability for what ships. Keystone is just a core banking accelerator that handles the plumbing that has already been solved, while you decide the business.
