Head of Consulting

Role overview

As our Head of Consulting, you will build and lead Vacuumlabs’ consulting practice from the ground up. You’ll own the full consulting journey — from identifying opportunities and building relationships with senior decision-makers to shaping and closing advisory engagements. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders across banking, wealth management, and fintech, helping them navigate digital and core banking transformation and turn strategic challenges into actionable roadmaps. You’ll define what our consulting offering looks like, how we price and deliver it, and how it connects with Vacuumlabs’ strong product and technology delivery capabilities.

This is a greenfield leadership role with significant autonomy. The initial focus is on bringing consulting business to Vacuumlabs through your existing network, relationships, and commercial track record. As the practice gains traction, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and build the consulting business, its offerings, capabilities, and team.

Who you are

What you’ll do

Own business development for the consulting practice: originate, shape, and close advisory engagements with banks, wealth managers, and fintechs, primarily through your relationships and network.
Build trusted relationships with C-level and senior stakeholders and act as a strategic advisor on digital transformation, core banking, operating models, and technology strategy.
Lead consulting engagements from initial client conversation through proposal, delivery, and follow-on opportunities.
Define and continuously evolve Vacuumlabs’ consulting offering, including propositions, pricing, delivery models, and target client segments.
Identify where consulting can create value for our existing clients and where advisory work can naturally lead into Vacuumlabs’ product and technology delivery capabilities.
Develop transformation strategies and roadmaps that connect business objectives, customer needs, operating models, and technology.
Represent Vacuumlabs externally as a senior industry voice through events, conferences, client meetings, publications, and thought leadership.
Work closely with Sales and Marketing to increase the visibility and credibility of the consulting practice beyond your personal network.
Help establish the foundations of the consulting practice — ways of working, capabilities, propositions, and the people and expertise needed to scale it over time.

What you need to succeed

Senior leadership experience in consulting and/or on the client side of banking — ideally you’ve experienced both sides of the table.
Deep domain knowledge of financial services, particularly banking, wealth management, or fintech.
Experience personally leading, or playing a key leadership role in, a major digital, core banking, or business transformation programme.
Proven track record of originating and selling consulting or advisory work, from initial relationship through to signed engagement.
An active network of senior decision-makers across financial services.
Experience working across international markets, ideally the UK & Ireland or other Western European markets.
Strong understanding of both the business and technology sides of banking and fintech.
Experience shaping consulting propositions, transformation roadmaps, business cases, or strategic recommendations for senior clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
